Without too much epilogue, Logistic planning implies the supply and availability,harnessing and conscious selection of technical and operational devices in order to use them properly for the success of an event.

Logistics has been a major challenge for event planners and clients in the aspect of;
tools,machines,labours,materials etc,
supply of those materials, and to those materials

Most times, events are not really affected by unavailability of materials, but allocation(effectiveness) and optimal utilisation(efficiency) of the resources.

Materials and labours used at events vary depending on varying events. Birthday-(sound systems, M.C, chairs, hall), funeral (clergy, coffins,undertakers, nuclear/extended families etc), wedding (M.C, bridal train, decor, cake designer etc) and all of that...

We once said Event management is both a skill&art.
But in order to seek and possess authorisation to embark on course of action there's need to acquire PERMIT.
By permit we mean an authorisation placed upon an initiator to carry out a course of action-activity, engagement, production, services and the likes. Permit could be a Legal or non-legal allowance- go-ahead to carry out a service.
Permit not necessarily have to be a legal endeavour, but it's important to seek the permission of concern authorities.
By legal permit we mean, a set of governmental or judicial procedures to secure authorisation before undertaking an endeavour. A company issued certificate of incorporation becomes a trading company by right,privilege & authority filed & granted by the Registrar of companies. An Academic/Tertiary institutions is due to carry out operation under the auspices, examination and accreditation of the University commission.

On the other hand, non-legal permit doesn't undergo all of the above. That doesn't make it an illegal endeavor. It actually means, receiving authorisation/informal permission from relevant authority without too much paper work or red-tapism. Permission to use an open Field/hall of event needs financial and implied permit( we mean payment for the hall&agreement to use- these consist permission). Also,permission to help handle a client's event, base on relationship, trust and excellence, is another form of non_legal permit.

Therefore,we dare not dabble or engage in whatsoever we have not been approve to do either on the legal or non legal side.

man without an authority/authorisation is an isolated man from impactful leadership and cannot influence his world...

We could continue with the quotes till the next course, but the point of emphasis is plan your financial journey to financial liberation so that you don't end in financial captivity.
A lot want to be like "them", a lot want to have weddings, ceremonies like "theirs,hers,his" even when it is evident that their financial status cannot bear them. This explains the reason to plan our budget with deliberate effort before engaging in a financial sapping endeavor.
Budgetary planning (ceremony context)is a numerical analysis of an estimated expenditure,and not taking and laying too much consideration on the receipts. You'll actually be blessed with money and gifts during a ceremony you've organised, but it shouldn't be part of your ceremony budget. Including it as part of the budget make some client plan above their account balance hoping to offset it with the gifts which in frequent cases doesn't happened. Switch off your mind from what you might be given(cause it's a probability), and plan with the little you can AFFORD(for emphasis) so that you don't HYPE your expectations and consequently your HOPE may be dashed. Learn from the Wise men like , Joseph, Daniel after the order of Jesus. You life is so precious to be wasted by pleasing men, and hoping to be augmented by another.

Having sufficiently addressed and understood the challenges of the choice of location that suit the kind of event to run, we therefore need to make plans for personnel needed at the venue.

Generally, as events might demand; Catering, decors,Mastery of ceremony, serving&ushering, traditional rites engagers etc are some of the personnel needed at events venue.

>Agree on their service pattern & your preferred pattern to operate
>Agree on their wage demands; either hourly wage rate or flat rate basis
>Agree on start time and finish time
>All round agreement(planning) on personnel matters in order to have an event accompanied with ease at every events.

Several events venue were chosen for some obvious reasons; luxury, show of class/affluence, circumstances, media acceptance etc... None of the reasons above is totally justified for picking a location. You wealth,your financial status, attracting social media attention shouldn't get us carried away in the choice of event venue.

Event location is a specific space(close or open) where events is to be held putting into consideration the interest of the participants.
It's a point where objectives and intentions of an event are well communicated to participants in a relax mood/state. Close events venue- Big Hall,church,home etc. Open events venue- Field,open space,beach,roads etc

Instead of considering our personal interest to pick events location it should be the public interest in order of priority. The following are factors to consider before picking an event venue;

1. Accessibility....we are talking about the road network leading to the event location.
2. Proximity... We mean getting there as soon as possibility. Nearness to events location. In case of a wedding ceremony, engagement location shouldn't be far from reception venue(putting the public interest at heart)
3. Population... We mean the number or estimated number of participants expected. This will help to determine the space to occupy
4. Environmental threats...elements that threatens the success of the events e.g traffic jams,dirty/smelling areas,unkept dumps, thuggery etc. Except the event planner is ready to put measures(bouncer,police,road cleaners, refuse dump cleaners) to curb such menace.
5. Financial capability... Cutting your coat according to your size is the key, no show no ostentation. Be real in your investment and help your life after the event cause the participants will not be with you when you are languishing in debt...
6. Seek help....no man is self sufficient on its own. Seek event planners/managers assistance...

Lost knowledge can be replaced with reading,lost health can be replaced with medicine... but lost time cannot be regained-samuel smiles

From the above quotes,we can deduce that the start-time and finish-time of any events is crucial as human life itself. Events managers and planners must bear the importance of time at heart. Timings: as to the convenient and suitable time to hold programs,meetings; Timings: as to when to start and exact time to end; timings: as to the periods allotted to every facilitator to handle a section in an events; et al.
Timelines are usually establish to make sure there's no deviation from intentions and objectives. Strict adherence to protocols is often demanded.
Have you ever imagine the take-off time of an airplane which doesn't exceed a second irrespective of whether it's occupied or not? Hence the importance of timelines.
Oh you program secretaries,master of ceremonies and other program coordinators, consider the depth of the matter and address the abuse of time.

We've digested the fact that event management "is the process of designing & producing events;meetings, conventions,trade shows,weddings,anniversaries, Birthdays. Event management is both a skill&art" (anonymous). Let's carefully look at the KEY-FACTORS of E.M. The key-factors are much in number,but in the couple of days we should be done with them. But for today we address one...
KNOWING YOUR INTENT-
When we say intent,we mean intentions, objectives, expectations at the end of a proposed or finalised project(endeavour).
It's germane that we bring our intentions/objectives to bear while implementing an assignment. But at the initial stage of project proposition the objective & intention of the endeavour (ceremonies,meetings etc) must be carefully stated, in order to avoid an unending race & a barren exercise. Objectives are so important in any endeavour as it gives program FOCUS&DIRECTION. It avoid deviations (cause they are dangerous). Importantly Objective/intentions must be SMART (Simple,measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound)
Simple-we mean avoidance of any form of ambiguity
Measurable-we mean it must move with the journey/extent of a course
Attainable-we mean achievable
Realistic-we mean, does it match our status.
Time bound- start-time and finish-time(expected result time).

Without an intent/objective you can't thrive. Conceive and nurse the intention/objective of your course before exploring it.
