Single Mothers Deserve Love Too!

I had an interesting conversation with a friend yesterday about the classic mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law drama.

She asked me:

“If your son gets married and starts pampering his wife, will you be jealous?”

Without hesitation, I said YES, and let me explain why.

I am a single mother to a 10-year-old boy. From the moment I had him, I have been his protector, provider, and everything in between. I didn’t have anyone pampering me, no one to share the weight of parenting with.

So, if by the time he gets married and I’m still single, he remains the only man in my life, and yes, I deserve that pampering too! Maybe even more.

This is not about competing with his wife but about acknowledging the sacrifices single mothers make. A single mother-in-law is not a burden, she’s a woman who gave everything to raise a good man for you to marry.

So, dear future daughters-in-law, love your mother-in-law too!

She is not your rival; she’s a woman who poured her soul into making the man you adore who he is today.

To all single mothers out there, your love, sweat, and sacrifices are seen!

And one day, you will reap the reward.

A Decade of Grace
Happy 10th Birthday, My Sonshine Samuel

Today, March 27th, my son Samuel turns 10 years old, and all I can say is,

Oh Look how far we have come!!!

God, I am beyond grateful for Your grace,
Your mercy, and Your kindness in blessing me with a son like Sam.

You have been our rock, our strength, and our provider.

Lord, I commit Samuel into Your hands:
Bless him abundantly and keep him safe.
Guide him just like You did for Samuel in the Bible, help him to hear You clearly.

In a world full of distractions, give him wisdom, strength, and humility.

May his heart always be tuned to You.
May his identity be rooted in You, and may he never be confused about who he is.

Oh Lord according to your word in Exodus 23v26 “I shall not cast my young ones, nor shall I be barren in the land; I will live to see my children flourish”

Lord Uphold my Son and give me resources to help him realize his purpose
