There are huge benefits in enrolling children in extracurricular activities: They may hone in on artistic, sporting or technology skills or talents that they may not have even known they possessed.

Be strategic about the choice; some skills e.g. coding, sports, music are so important.

Look for cheaper options outside school at weekends or during the holidays, provided by clubs, camps, churches, and community groups that make use of volunteers.
