Calling education a scam is a dangerous message, especially when it comes from influential voices. Education does not guarantee wealth, but it is far from a scam. It expands your thinking, creates opportunities, develops your capacity, and equips you to thrive in an ever-changing world.

As the Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes, “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill, but time and chance happens to them all.” Success is not determined by education alone, talent, or gifts. It is also about timing, preparation, and positioning.

Positioning means recognizing the opportunities of your season and preparing yourself for them. Today, technology is shaping the future. Those who continuously learn, build relevant skills, and develop themselves are better positioned to maximize the opportunities that come their way.

Education is not the destination—it is a bridge. It removes barriers, broadens your perspective, and gives you tools to pursue your purpose. Discouraging young people from learning by declaring that “education is a scam” is irresponsible. Instead, we should encourage them to combine education with wisdom, skill, innovation, and the right positioning.
