Some baking businesses will never grow. Not because the baker is not talented but because of habits that silently k!ll growth.

If you are serious about building a profitable baking brand, avoid these mistakes below 👇

1. You don’t treat your brand like a real business
If baking is just something you do sometimes, growth will be difficult. Successful bakers track orders, manage finances, plan marketing, and run their brand intentionally. Try as much as possible to always treat your business as one with all intentionality.

2. You keep underpricing your work: If your prices don’t cover ingredients, time, electricity and skill, your business will struggle. Underpricing your cakes, pastries etc attracts the wrong customers and keeps you exhausted and broke.

3. You refuse to learn new skills: The baking industry evolves constantly. If you don’t upgrade your skills, learn new techniques, or improve presentation, your business will remain stagnant. As a baker, if you don’t learn new skills, you keep your business in the dark and that’s the fastest route to extinction.

4. Your products are not consistent: Customers will always return when they trust your quality.
If one cake tastes amazing today and different tomorrow, people will hesitate to recommend you. Master your recipe and always produce same results.

5. You avoid marketing your business: Posting once in a long while or being shy about advertising your business will slow your growth.
People cannot buy from you if they don’t know you exist or even trust you .

6. You ignore branding and presentation: Packaging, clean designs, good photos, and a professional page make people trust your brand.

7. You don’t value customer experience: Late delivery, poor communication, or rude responses can actually damage your reputation quickly. So be kind and honest to your customers.

This can be you but something is holding you back. That thing is called ‘procrastination’.

Don’t you want to be like Damilola who was able to bake and decorate this after three weeks of learning. You need to see her whipped cream project. Currently, she and others are learning how to cover their cakes with fondant.
