Today is International Women's Day with the theme "investing in women: accelerate progress!
I discovered that most women haven't invested in themselves enough to love themselves and their company.
You love the company of others so much that you don't like to be alone because you think there nothing much to you or there's really nothing happening in your life or you constantly need the validation of others to feel good about yourself.
I remember going through some challenges a few weeks ago, and I didn't sort it out, so I found myself doing extra and spending more time at work. I didn't deal with the issues as they were coming, and it just kept expanding, but I decided to stop that.
Thankfully, I didn't go out one day, and I knew I needed to deal with it because I must be comfortable with myself and love my company as much as I love and desire the company of others. And I did just that.
I have learnt that if you don't love yourself enough to invest in yourself, you will carry that same energy out, and you'd wonder why you really don't matter to the people around you.
Thankfully, I have people around me who invest deliberately in me, but I once told myself that if no one would invest in me, I would invest in myself!
Today is IWD, and i want to appeal to every woman to be deliberate about investing in yourself and investing in others around you.
Invest your time, energy, and resources to develop yourself and others.
You will be a better You! and you will have like minds around you. Secondly, you will be able to go through life satisfied with the kind of woman you are and you are becoming. Trust you need that satisfaction to keep you going.
To all the women around me, I love you all, and you matter.
