A man who can betray the mother of his child will betray anyone. Because if you can lie to, cheat on, or abandon the woman who carried your blood, who sacrificed her body, sleep, and peace to bring your child into this world — then loyalty doesn’t live in you. Betrayal that deep isn’t just about breaking a relationship; it’s about breaking a foundation that was supposed to be sacred.

When a man turns his back on the mother of his child, it reveals everything about his character. It shows his inability to value what’s pure, to protect what’s real, and to honor the woman who once believed in him enough to build life together. You can’t hurt the one who nurtures your child and still claim to be a “good man.” A title like that is earned through consistency, compassion, and responsibility — not empty words.

Real men don’t betray their family. They don’t create pain where they should create peace. They understand that the mother of their child will forever be connected to them, and disrespecting her is the same as disrespecting their own blood.

Grace Atinuke Oyelude became Nigeria’s first Miss Nigeria in 1957 after her brother secretly submitted her photo to the Daily Times contest.

Working at UAC in Kano at the time, she stood out at the finals in Lagos by wearing traditional attire and won the crown with a £200 prize.

She used the money to study nursing in the UK, becoming a registered nurse in 1961 and a midwife a year later. Grace went on to earn more qualifications in nursing and hospital administration.

After returning to Nigeria, she worked at Kaduna General Hospital and led medical teams during the Nigerian Civil War. She later became senior matron at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital.

She also shaped health policy, serving as an external examiner and chairing the Kwara State Health Management Board. Her work earned her the Florence Nightingale Award and chieftaincy titles.
