STORY TIME! πβ€οΈ
Before this wedding, the bride's family called me aside and said:
"Alaga, please be careful with the groom's mother. She's not easily satisfied, and she can be very difficult. Whatever happens, don't let her get to you."
Immediately, I prepared my mind. I told myself, "Simbi, just stay calm, be professional, and focus on your job."
Fast forward to the wedding...
To my greatest surprise, this same woman gave me ZERO stress! π³
No drama.
No complaints.
No unnecessary instructions.
Instead, she was smiling, dancing, enjoying every moment, and she was even one of the people that sprayed me the most! πβ€οΈ
When I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Then I realized something...
Sometimes, we allow what people say about someone to shape how we see them before we even meet them.
If I had gone there expecting trouble, I might have misunderstood every little thing she did.
Maybe she was difficult in other situations.
Maybe she wasn't.
But that day, I gave her a clean slate, stayed professional, treated her with respect, and everything flowed beautifully.
The lesson?
Don't let other people's opinions become your personal experience. Meet people with wisdom, professionalism, and an open mind. Sometimes, the person everyone warned you about becomes the easiest person to work with.
