Problem 1(hall congestion): With her family social status, I had repeatedly advised Chika to make it strictly by IV affair.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mba! She said her parents had promised that they would invite only few friends…. Ngwa!! a 600-hall capacity transformed to 900 guests.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Problem 2(Food and Drinks): I advised her with my formula and suggested a backup plan for additional 200 guests.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Her response “if they do or don’t get food, my budget is for only 500 guests “
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Problem 3(Coordination): This broke the camel’s back … (after allotting duties to her friends) ... once the guest artiste began to perform... gbese they all left to dance…resultant effect... mad riot for food and drinks as guests grumpily left without eating.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With these lessons in mind, I have always ensured that my clients leave the planning to us, are well rested and walk in to their event feeling like a dignitary.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love when after each event, a client appreciates our efforts, “Oh my goodness Moor, we don’t know what we would have done without you!” and I smile inwardly (remembering how initially they had argued about not needing an event planner.)

So our dear Ajuju(ask) google sent one of his daughters with his three reasons he wishes to adopt us as his new children

(1) to stand out from his several children
(2) to engage with customers so they know we exist such that they buy before we are exiled to our village

...I can’t wait to meet you Ma!! I loved your speech during the event on May 1st. I was so sad that I missed attending it physically but rushed in from a birthday event just to watch it live on ..

I stood up clapping with my doffed hat faraway in my eastern hotel room (my husband joined in, asking who you were as he loved your speech especially about women visibility and I boldly said that's our Mama).

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I am delighted to announce our weekly …. She is a multiple award-winning entrepreneur, the founder and CEO of the Chair Centre Group, the first female and youngest chairman of First bank Nigeria. She also chairs the House of Tara board serves on several boards including Cadbury Nigeria and The Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority…but to me she is an embodiment of Beauty, Brains and Spirituality as she has become a great beacon of hope for the Nigerian Woman

(1) Remember and acknowledge that your spouse and family are the long-lasting support structure
and inspiration for every woman
(2) Marry a spouse who supports your vision and create time vice-versa for your spouse and family
(3) Be focused, master your skills and be competent at what you do…have integrity and build a great value system to sell yourself at the slightest opportunity
(4) Adopt a self-development streak and brand yourself as your cv. Learn to prioritize yourself and your business.
(5) Eliminate the word “failure” in your vocabulary as it shuts you down…. rather “go to war” with the challenges you face with a positive affirmation that “nothing is impossible”
(6) Be hungry for knowledge as there is always something new to learn daily. Surround yourself with people who share the same quest with you & who bring value to you.

Whenever I recall the Bible verse Exodus 4: 2 “Then the Lord said to him, “what is that in your hand?” one clear manifestation of this that comes to mind is the turnaround story of Ijeoma Ndukwe, the Forbes Pap/Ogi Seller aka Nwanyiakamu and she is our for this week.

Growing up, I for one always hated pap as it was always stuffed with bournvita beverage , no milk no sugar .Chai!! my mother would always make it in that big metal bowl , scoop three heavy spoons of bournvita (with the crunchy-crunchy inside oh) and be bribing me with songs and stories of “gbomo-gbomo” coming to eat my food if I don’t want it……I remember swallowing the pap but stuffing it in the cheeks of my mouth whilst she would playfully punch my cheeks to ensure I swallow it with the never-ending promise of the “this is the last spoon” but Ijeoma turned around this same normal “Pap” hawked on the street from the confines of her kitchen in August 2012 and made it not just sexy but created over extra-fortified pap that comes in 12 different variants – Strawberry, Plain Yellow, Plain White, Vanilla Flavored, with Groundnut, with Soybeans, and 4 variants with Ginger that kiddies and (yes I am a new convert now) have come to love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So as she has always boldly stated "I sell pap for a living, what's your excuse?'……” What’s in your hands”
