๐ LETโS TALK ABOUT THIS TEXTBOOK MATTER, BECAUSE I AM TIRED! ๐ฉ
I really want to understand something, and honestly, I think other parents in Anambra State may be asking the same question.
Last year, we were told that children, especially in private schools, should not write inside their textbooks. The idea was that the textbooks should be kept clean so that they could be passed down to younger siblings or other pupils.
Fair enough. ๐
As parents, we accepted it. We bought the textbooks, kept them clean and made the children do their assignments in their exercise books.
But please, what happens when the school changes the textbooks the following session? ๐ค
Because tell me why I bought textbooks for my child last year, kept them almost as good as new because he was not allowed to write in them, hoping that his younger brother would use them...
Only for the new session to come and the textbooks have changed! ๐ฉ
So what exactly were we preserving the textbook for?
At the end of the whole session, the only thing written inside the textbook is probably the child's name. ๐
Meanwhile, the parents are suffering.
Look at this assignment in the picture. Before my child can even start answering the questions, I have to copy everything from the textbook into the exercise book first.
If there is a diagram, we copy the diagram.
If there are 40 questions, we copy the 40 questions.
Then, after copying everything, we can finally start answering.
And remember, this is not one child.
For parents with two, three or four children, you can imagine the amount of work involved. ๐ฉ
School resumed less than three weeks ago, and look at what has already happened to one of the exercise books. An entire 18-leaf exercise book is almost gone because the children have to copy questions from textbooks before answering them.
And honestly, homework has become a parent's second job. ๐๐ญ
My question is simple:
If the textbooks are going to be changed every session,
