Love letter to the best biggest brother in the whole world.
Dear Linus,
Congratulations on your 40th birthday, no be small thing ohhhh. Lol
I remember growing up with so many insecurities only I could see, I struggled to fit in a lot, which will come across as news to many because I learnt to put out the tough girl persona.
I remember failing a class and was so scared to come back home, rather than express disappointment you spoke to me with so much love, the love and care you showed me that night made me realise I will always have you in my corner no matter how much things got tough.
I remember doing everything to never disappoint you because you showed me what true love really was. Being selfless, holding back your disappointment, rather than show me tough love, you choose to put my emotions first and show me love. I was already beating myself enough and there was no point in making me feel worse, you said. You gave me such a warm hug I remember going to bed at ease, not feeling like a failure but as someone who went through a temporal setback and would bounce back better and yes i did bounce back. That was my first realisation of what having a healthy conversation should look like. Words from that night have guided me throughout life. "Don't dwell on the failure of today but on the success of the future." Those are words I took from that night and are words that have guided me through life.
I am grateful for the awesomeness that is you. You teach me daily to be selfless, and I could not ask for a better person to look up to. The way you love your parents, siblings, friends, most especially the way you love your beautiful wife and children, is incredible to witness, and im so glad God put you in my life.
Thank you for giving me the security that I will always have you to count on no matter what, thank you for loving me and thank you for all you do and I may not say this often but I love you and will take so many bullets for you.
As you step into this new chapter, I pray for a long life in good health and happiness with so much love and joy unimaginable.
Happy birthday, brother, and please take one bottle for me,lol.
