Every Business Owner or Entrepreneur at some point, goes through difficult situations and circumstances in the Businesses.
When we go through such times, there’s every tendency to throw in the towel, play blame games - at your self, at specific individuals, at the devil and even sometimes at God.
These are a few of my few take aways from some of my experiences:
1. Take time out and away from the situation (no matter how little the time is). Remove yourself from it or other situations, for some time. It may be from your business premises or even mentally separating from it for a period.
2. Dissect the situation, like how a post mot-term is conducted for autopsy. Don’t spare yourself or anyone.
3. Make an honest assessment of the situation.
Look at everything from different angles. Turn it upside down, left, right, centre, middle - all the different directions that you can turn it in to and note the lessons.
Be critical of yourself. Know where you have missed it as a person, where you made mistakes, where you did not meet up to expectations and where you failed.
- What part did I play in making this happen? Be more critical of yourself than of others.
- what role did other individuals play in this situation? Note who they are and the exact roles they played.
- What role did the economy or the market forces play in this?
- What role did Spiritual forces play in this?( whether we like it or not, this is the defining factor for anything that happens to as individuals/ Businesses. Everything takes its root from the spirit realm- be it God or the devil).
Is it God or the devil?
God allows some things to happen when He wants to get our attention, especially when we have become too distracted and unfocused.
Until you are able to come to these realization, you will not forge forward. You will keep making these same mistakes.
You must be honest with yourself.
Be critical of yourself.
Yes there are other factors that may have caused what happened, but THE ONLY PERSON YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER IS YOU.
So deal with you.
Make the necessary corrections and adjustments where you need to.
Learn, unlearn and relearn. Work on your mindset.
Take responsibility where you need to.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and expose you to you. Be honest and sincere about it.
When you are able to successfully pen down these things, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Ask Him to teach you. That is what His specialty is .
You see, you cannot do this business thing alone. If you must succeed, you need His help. The Bible says “without Him, we can do NOTHING “. If you want to do Business or any endeavor God’s way, you need His help.
So I encourage you today, if you find yourself in any dilemma or situation or challenge or whatever it is that you call it, you need some time out to make an honest assessment of what the situation is and ask God to help you know what it is that happened, and how to mitigate the impact and the damages caused.
Only when you know what truly the situation is, you cannot learn what it is you need to do to come out of it and forestall it from repeating it self again in the future.
