What things do people usually miss when planning a wedding?
I would say that it’s supposed to be a fun party and that their guests are there to celebrate the couple.
I’ve been to so many weddings and I’ve planned one myself so I get it. It’s a big frantic industry with a lot of vendors trying to get your attention and tell you what you “need” for your wedding. Be honest with yourself. What kind of wedding do you really want? What do you enjoy when attending other weddings? What would make it fun for you and fun for your guests?
There was a wedding that I only saw pictures of online. It was an old friend that lived in a different state. She had a small wedding and then had her reception at a very nice hall. My heard melted. The pictures were full of smiles and fun and you could feel the love coming off of every moment. They had fun, they were unapologetically themselves and in the end everyone had a great time celebrating the couple. That’s what it’s all about, celebration and love.
You also have to accept that people will complain. There’s no way to get around that. They’ll find something. Accept it, forget about it, and move on. If you have fun that’s all that matters.
