اعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
وَیُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِینࣰا وَیَتِیمࣰا وَأَسِیرًا(٨) إِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِوَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِیدُ مِنكُمۡ جَزَاۤءࣰ وَلَا شُكُورًا(٩) إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا یَوۡمًا عَبُوسࣰا قَمۡطَرِیرࣰا(١٠)
8. And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
9. (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.
10. "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord."

Alhamdulillah for the gift of life and the may the blessings of Ramadan abide with us all.

Alhamdulillah a total of #29000 was received from 4 Muslims.

These were thus distributed as Zakatul Fitri cash equivalent as follow:
#5000; #7500; #7500; #4000 and #5000.

We pray Allah count it as Ibaadah for the benefactors and bless it with the beneficaries.

Let us continue to live with the lessons of Ramadan, especially acting our best in worshipping Allah, behaving goodly to people and continually extending care for the needy with a view to seeking the pleasure of Allahu SWT without any expectations of gratitude from the people. Our appreciation comes only from Allahu SWT.

In the period closing up to the end of Ramadan, every fasting Muslim is enjoined to do Zakatil Fitri.

This is the kind of charity we do to bring smiles to others people's faces after their fasting. In reality, many people fast with very meagerly amount of foods because they desire to benefit from the rewards of fasting. However, marking the Eid to celebrate in excitement is practically difficult. Rather, they look up to Allah to send others to them for support.

So we package grains of commonly eaten food items in certain prescribed measure and give to them. In times like this, however, scholars of Islam have opined that it is also possible to transfer the cash equivalent of the same measure to the beneficiaries who can now use the fund to cater for their Eid feeding needs.

Zakat-l-Fitri is to be presented to beneficiaries latest before they go for Eid. If done after Eid, it's no more Zakatil Fitri but normal sodaqa.

Zakat-l-Fitri helps every fasting Muslim maximise the benefits of their fasts; a compassionate way of maintaining social security, nurtures love and co-operation.

اعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ
فَكُّ رَقَبَة
أَوۡ إِطۡعَٰمٞ فِي يَوۡمٖ ذِي مَسۡغَبَةٖ
يَتِيمٗا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍ
أَوۡ مِسۡكِينٗا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةٖ
And what can make you know what is [climbing through] the difficult cliff?
It is the freeing of a slave
Or FEEDING ON A DAY OF SEVERE HUNGER
An orphan of near relationship
Or a needy person in misery

Ramadan is such special season of giving, but it has come this year amidst protracted lockdown as a response to covid-19 pandemic which has critically affected individuals economic plans.

Alhamdulillah we're alive counting down to Ramadan, we pray Allah makes us witness this Ramadan and more of it.

This is Zeenort!
Last year Ramadan, we ran a campaign on Feeding Fasting Muslims and we got some sponsorship. We had 29 days of Iftar at Istiqoomah Masjid, Oke-Lantoro Abeokuta, Ogun State, each day feeding an average of 40 Muslims. We actually wanted to do more in other masaajid, but we were constrained by sponsorship budget, had only two (2) sponsors.

This year's Ramadan is less than 50 days. So we got to start the preparations.
