Almost 18 years ago, I met the Thorburn family in Rosh Pinah while managing Amica Guesthouse. I will never forget the first time I walked out of the kitchen into the lounge area, which also served as the local coffee shop in our little mining town.
There they sat, this beautiful little family, waiting to be served. Bokkie had brought his family to show them the town they would soon be moving to. I still remember beautiful Alta with her gorgeous handbag, little Ciara sitting there with those biiiiig blue eyes, and Polla with his naughty little face. β€οΈ
Little did I know then that, almost 18 years later, our paths would cross again in such a special way!
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and here we are in Swakopmund, celebrating the inauguration of K Neumayer and this family's new property and head office, with The Taste Academy having the privilege of creating a beautiful grazing table for their special occasion.
It is truly inspiring to see how far the family has come and to celebrate the growth of their business. K Neumayer's contribution to Namibia and the opportunities it creates for Namibians make milestones like these even more meaningful. π³π¦
Sometimes, business is about so much more than what we create. It is about the people we meet, the memories we make, and the unexpected joy of reconnecting years down the line.
