Walvis Bay, Namibia — Get ready to turn back the clock and relive the magic of the 1980s! The Blue Whale Events team proudly presents the Back to the 80’s Weekend, a spectacular five-day celebration happening from Tuesday, 28 October to Saturday, 1 November 2025, under the dazzling Blue Whale Dome at the Erongo Business & Tourism Expo.
For one unforgettable week, the community will come together to celebrate iconic music, fashion, food, and flair from the decade that defined entertainment.
🎶 What to Expect:
Opening Night (Tuesday, 28 Oct):
Kick off the week with “A Slice of the 80s” — a relaxed evening filled with timeless 80s hits and great food! Enjoy a pizza for only N$80 while the sounds of Bon Jovi, Madonna, and Wham! fill the air.
(No gate fee — just buy your pizza!)
Bridal Show and Miss Erongo Expo 2025 Introduction (Wednesday, 29 Oct):
Step into a night of pure 80s nostalgia — where music, elegance, and creativity come together! Enjoy timeless 80s hits while our stunning Miss Erongo Expo 2025 contestants take the stage to showcase their talents and personalities. Adding to the magic, the evening will feature a bridal runway show highlighting exquisite wedding gown designs from local designer — the perfect blend of glamour and inspiration! (Gate fee N$100)
Miss Erongo Expo 2025 (Thursday, 29 Oct):
Grace, glamour, and confidence take center stage as contestants compete to become the Face of Blue Whale Events and ambassadors for community projects throughout the year. (Gate fee N$100)
Footloose Friday (31 October)
Get ready to hit the dance floor like it’s prom night back in the 80s! Footloose Friday brings you a night of non-stop classic 80s tunes, spun by different DJs who know how to keep the retro vibe alive.
Step under the neon lights, grab your friends, and dance the night away to the beats that defined a generation — from Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston to Prince and Cyndi Lauper. It’s energy, style, and pure nostalgia wrapped into one unforgettable night.
So tease that hair, dust off your dancing shoes, and let’s relive the magic of an authentic 80s prom night. (Gate fee N$100)
The Grand 8-Hour 80s Finale Show (Saturday, 1 Nov):
The highlight of the week — an 8-hour non-stop 80s experience filled with live bands, tributes, performers, lights, and dance floors. (Gate fee N$200)
VIP table bookings get a free PIZZA. Only 10 tables available (N$500 for table setting for maximum 5)
🍷 Wine Tasting & Fine Dining Experience
Running throughout the 80s Weekend, guests can also indulge in a refined Wine Tasting and Fine Dining Experience hosted in the Municipality Side Hall, adjacent to the Blue Whale Dome.
Sample premium Namibian and international wines paired with gourmet dishes — all curated by the Blue Whale culinary team. It’s the perfect setting for those who love the finer things in life while soaking in the 80s ambience.
Wine-tasting passports and dining bookings will be available at the Blue Whale Hotel reception and at the hall entrance during the Expo.
