Regulations for New Year’s Eve

All social gatherings end tonight at 20:00. People are required to confine themselves to their places of residence at 21:00 to 04h00.

Police in the Erongo Region advises the public to leave places of entertainment by 20:00 in order to make their way to their places of residence. No camping at beaches or other places of camping is allowed.

Community Affairs Commander of the Erongo Regional Police, Inspector Illeni Shapumba said Police will conduct operations tonight to ensure people comply with the Covid-19 regulations. Inspector Shapumba said“, those violating the law will be charged accordingly. No fireworks are allowed to be discharged in residential areas and the discharge of fireworks and fi****ms in municipal areas is a criminal offense punishable by law. Let us all plan our celebrations within the confines of the law. We wish everyone a happy new year.”
