As a wedding planner, I have always had a fascination for cultural nuptial celebrations, including Indian weddings. Recently, I had the pleasure of planning this milestone in life for Nisha and Harish.

Both lawyers with busy careers, they entrusted us to plan for this very special occasion in their lives. From the Hindu ceremony at Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir to the wedding reception at The Estate on Federal Hill in Kuala Lumpur, I took on the role of planner and confidante, ensuring that all our collaborative wedding partners played their role in ensuring that Nisha and Harish got to experience the wonderful wedding they deserved.

Whilst the many tasks, the nitty-gritty details and coordination with numerous parties require much of my attention and focus, I am always grateful to be able to be part of a couple’s nuptial celebration, doing what I love most. Here’s wishing the both of them everlasting happiness.

Shannon and Daryl certainly left their guests enamoured, as related by their wedding planner Jovita of Jovita Lo Weddings …… ‘Collaborating with Shannon and Daryl on their nuptial celebration was indeed an eye-opening experience for me. Apart from the wedding planning process that is the norm, an added dimension to the celebrations was featuring the talents of both the bride and groom in song and dance. From serenading their guests on stage as well as performing an epic first dance, I can safely say that this is one of the most talented couples I’ve had the privilege of working with. The highlight of the wedding banquet was certainly their dance performance, creating a memorable moment that will be etched in the minds of all present. Post dance, everyone let their hair down for a wonderful after party too’.

Debbie and Zhen Hou approached us to plan their intimate exchange of vows and blessing ceremony.
As a wedding planner, any nuptial celebration, be it intimate or large, is just as important and exciting to me. After all, when a soon-to-be-wed couples places their trust in us, it is a privilege that we appreciate, and it is a commitment we undertake to ensure that they get to realise the wedding that they have always envisioned. For this personalised nuptials, we chose The Chow Kit – an Ormond Hotel as the venue. A boutique sized property with intimate event spaces, artistically designed, it served as the perfect backdrop from which couple exchanged their vows in the presence of family, relatives and close friends. Indeed, such a personalised celebration in an intimate setting allowed the newlyweds to truly connect with all those present, providing them with the opportunity to create meaningful memories of this milestone in their lives. And as always, We are grateful to have been part of their journey to matrimony.

As you plan for your impending nuptials, you as a soon-to-be-wed will realise that there is indeed much to be done in the lead up to this milestone in your life. From conceptualising the ‘big picture’ to delving into the ‘nitty-gritty’ details that are inherent in wedding celebrations, having a wedding planner to assist from A-Z is often a worthwhile investment.

Suffice to say, there are a variety of wedding planners capable of being part of your team. Each offers a different perspective, a different working style, varied experience and knowledge, diverse working relationships with wedding vendors whom they may have established links. Indeed, each planner would also have different rates, depending on the aforementioned factors.

At the end of the day, who you choose to collaborate with and to rely on will very much depend on your personal preferences. Take your time to evaluate what each planner brings to the table, as each is unique in his or her own way.

For couples who place importance of a meaningful wedding celebration with family, relatives and close friends only, an intimate celebration is certainly the way to go. For ‘Li Shin & Rui Zhi’, this was very much their aspiration and I was pleased to have been able to play a part in helping them achieve their desire for a wedding reception focused on personal interaction and sharing this special moment in their lives with the people most important to them.

Grand Congress at Sunway Resort Hotel was their chosen venue. Intimate and personal, the venue provided us with the perfect canvas to conceptualise a romantic setting to mark this milestone in their lives. Collaborating with and the hotel’s events team, we were able to create an ambience and setting that truly reflected their vision of a personalised occasion. When planning for a wedding celebration, soon-to-be-weds often have a theme in mind. For Annabelle and Joshua they had their sights set on the Timeless & Magical Theme. As reflected in these photos, we are their chosen wedding planner conceptualised the theme by collaborating with our fellow wedding vendors such floral decorator. Be it the photobooth backdrop, décor lining the aisle, table centrepieces and much more, flowers, lighting and installations were combined to create a setting and atmosphere that showcased their chosen wedding theme.

A wedding at a St Regis hotel conjures up visions of a sumptuous and luxurious celebration. And indeed, this was evident at the nuptials of Christine and Edison. Our familiarity with the hotel and its events team always puts us in good stead whenever we plan celebrations at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur. For Christine and Edison, their aspirations of a romantic wedding banquet was realised through the abundant use of flora and fauna, stars and fairylights. Having the chance to conceptualise and execute such a wedding in collaboration with artistic vendors whom we have long worked alongside makes such an endeavour both meaningful and exciting at the same time. As the saying goes, it takes a village to craft such a celebration, and we certainly rely on long established working relationships with wedding industry professionals to successfully create an environment that acts as a catalyst for the couple as well as their invited guests to create wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Imagine celebrating your nuptials in a glasshouse in the cool climes of the highlands. How romantic is that? And that was exactly what we planned for Carmen and Derrick, a celebration with family and friends at La Serre at a striking glasshouse in a lush resort in Berjaya Hills. A destination wedding such as this requires meticulous attention to detail, something that we certainly take pride in. We also have to thank our collaborative partners, for their creative and artistic vision as well as for capturing these wonderful images that we are sharing. We hope that the romance of their wedding celebration is the start of a lifelong romantic marital relationship for the newlyweds, whose trust we truly appreciate.
