After years of planning events, we’ve learned one thing: a launching gimmick should never be “just a gimmick.”
When clients ask us, “Do we really need a launching gimmick?” — We understand the question.
After all, it can sometimes seem like an additional cost, an elaborate stage setup, or simply something to create a “wow” moment.
But we see it differently.
A well-conceptualised launching gimmick is an opportunity to turn a formal launch into an experience.
Think about it.
The moment the curtain is unveiled.
The lights come on.
The product is revealed.
The screen comes alive.
The audience reacts.
And suddenly, everyone in the room is focused on the same moment.
That is the power of a well-planned launch moment.
For us, there are several important values behind it:
🎯 It gives the event a defining moment.
Every event needs a highlight — a moment that guests will remember and associate with the brand.
📖 It tells a story.
The gimmick should have a reason behind it. It should connect with the brand, product, or event theme rather than being added simply because “we need a gimmick.”
📸 It creates shareable moments.
In the age of social media, one powerful visual moment can continue living long after the event has ended.
❤️ It creates emotion.
People may forget the speeches. They may forget the menu. But they are more likely to remember how an experience made them feel.
🤝 It brings everyone together.
A successful launching moment creates anticipation and participation — making the audience feel that they are part of something significant.
And this is where I believe an event planner adds real value.
Our job is not simply to ask, “What gimmick can we do?”
Our job is to ask:
“What is the story?”
“What should the audience feel?”
“How can we make this moment meaningful?”
“How can we make the launch worthy of the brand?”
Sometimes the answer is a high-tech production.
Sometimes it is something incredibly simple.
Because bigger doesn't always mean better.
The best launching gimmick is one that is relevant, purposeful, visually impactful, and memorable.
When creativity meets strategy, a launching gimmick stops being an “extra”...
…and becomes the moment that brings the entire event to life.
That, to me, is the real value of a launching gimmick. ✨
