Your creations move beyond the boundaries of cuisine. The courage to work with wild, unfamiliar, and deeply rooted ingredients transforms each dish into something far greater than dining it becomes memory, landscape, and story.
There is an extraordinary honesty in the way you approach flavor; the jungle, the smoke, the earth, the rivers all carefully translated onto the plate with restraint and imagination.
Together, this thematic dinner was born from a shared longing —a love for the homeland that shaped us.
Though we grew up between Sabah and Sarawak, and later journeyed to West to pursue our own creative paths, Borneo has never left us. Its textures, rituals, scents, and silences continue to live quietly within our work.
“Totem of Gathering” emerged from this remembrance an imagined landscape of the harvest season in the East. Smoke drifting across padi fields at dusk,offerings gathered by hand,the breath of the land rising slowly into the night.
Branches twist like thoughts spiraling toward new beginnings, while forms suspended in space echo the unseen spirit of abundance, gratitude, and gathering.
This collaboration is not only about food or installation but about returning, in our own ways,to the roots that continue to nourishus.
