Christina & JenZhen,
爱,是呵护;
That morning, during the gratitude ceremonies for the groom and bride’s parents, I heard two messages that were strikingly similar — and deeply touching.
The groom’s mum, with tears in her eyes, said to him:
“Mommy loves you so much. You will always be my baby. Knowing that you’re going all the way to Australia, so far from home, I’m really going to miss you. I know you’ve grown up and have your own plans and choices now. Just remember to come home to Malaysia more often.”
And, almost as if they had shared the same words beforehand, the bride’s mum said to her:
“You are my precious youngest daughter. Australia is so far away, so please take good care of yourself — and come home more often.”
Two mums, two hearts, saying almost the same thing.
Christina & JenZhen are two people who grew up surrounded by love.
And through the tears in both mums’ eyes, I saw another side of love.
Love is nurturing.
And sometimes, love is learning to let go.
May you carry the love your parents have given you as you bravely step into the future you have chosen together.
And no matter how far life takes you, may you always remember the way home.
