Dear Parents,

Once upon a time, I was a swim parent & a 🚕 mom.

Both my boys were competitive swimmers and they played water polo for the KL team too. The car was like their second home where they would catch quick naps and eat food to fuel their energy between school and trainings.

It was not just swimming and waterpolo…there were also Pokémon TCG competitions to go to as my younger son was an enthusiastic Pokémon TCG competitor at a very young age.

As a parent, do I fully support co-curricular activities after school? The answer is YES!!
As the founder of PARTY FRIENDS, I have met and engaged with thousands of children for the past 24years. Children love their playtime, they enjoy interactive activities and they appreciate being given the opportunity to explore new things to learn. We have developed many interactive party games over the years and have seen how much kids love to solve mysteries, think of solutions and make things.

My eldest went to UK (one way ticket from
KL) at the age of 17 to continue swimming at the Royal Wolverhampton school under the guidance of a British Olympian. Swimming doesn’t just drive you to be ultra competitive but it made him an independent and disciplined person.

Well, that was a long time ago, today my eldest is a Doctor and still makes splashes in the pool by coaching children and adults who have specific objectives to achieve. So if you are looking for a coach for yourself or your children, you can get in touch with him, he would be happy to discuss your objectives and plans to achieve them.

What happened to my younger one who is a Pokémon TCG player? He is now in Columbia University, New York. He continued to play water polo for the university team and he still competes in Pokémon TCG competitions in US.

So don’t underestimate your children’s childhood dreams and interests.

I am no longer a Taxi Mom but I still love doing interactive storytelling telling for children. Now, I have my grand daughter to explore new interactive activities with and toddlers books 📚 are stacking up fast at home🤩

Melur Jawa…it is mesmerising. Each time I see it bloom, the sweet smell, the delicate layered blooms and the sweet colours, it makes me smile. The plant has propagated by itself and now I have at least 10 Melur Jawa plants at a section of my garden. My wish is they all bloom at the same time 💓

I think I have overloaded myself with mangoes. So the mangoes in this basket will go to neighbours. Dinner today was deep fried tilapia dipped in “kicap”, fresh cut chillies 🌶️ and freshly squeezed calamansi juice (from the garden)

My dream is to have a path of sweet smelling flowers leading to the patio. Unfortunately, I have a long way to go to realise this dream. However, the beautiful, intricate and wonderful scent of the Melor flowers is definitely a reason to keep going.

It was the first time I watched a football match at the stadium. The fear of massive traffic jams and possibly being trampled by thousands of people in a crowded stadium were the reason I never made it to the stadium. The process of getting to Stadium Bukit Jalil to watch Malaysia vs Vietnam was an eye opener to the things I have missed out all these years.

My first experience riding the Sri Petaling line to Bukit Jalil from Putra Heights LRT station was awesome. Easy parking at Park N Ride Putra Heights LRT station, train was punctual and the aircond was working perfectly!! On the way back, I decided to use the Women’s Coach. Oh wow, what a privilege. We must give credit where it’s due. I felt very safe and comfortable on board the LRT. Thank you

The flow of passengers coming in and out of the Bukit Jalil LRT station was smooth. Going through the gates at the stadium was pretty quick too. No one pushed as I had imagined. It was orderly. Queue, show ticket, get it scanned and that’s it! There were over 60,000 people at the stadium and the vibes of everyone coming together to cheer Harimau Malaya was electrifying!

All I can say ..efficiency, respecting rules and coming together as football fans made my first outing to Stadium Bukit Jalil an amazing one.

I have added sunflowers in my garden. Somehow these flowers have not attracted the kelulut (stingless bees). The honey 🍯 is sweet with a tinge of sourness💛
