Ever since the ever-youthful couturist made his catwalk debut at the MODA wanita fashion show in 1991, there was no turning back for Carven Ong. A Malaysian Designer, Carven Ong was tapped on by the show’s costume designer Mary Vogt of the Crazy Rich Asian movie to create that show-stopping wedding dress and the glittery gold jumpsuit both masterpieces worn by Araminta Lee (played by Sonoya Mizuno) in the movie. I am so honored to receive the "Fashion Couture Legacy Award" at the Atap Design Awards 2025!

This award means a lot to me and my journey in fashion design. I put my heart into my work, so getting this recognition from Atap feels truly special.

I also really enjoyed being a presenter and showing my designs at the booth. Meeting everyone in the design community was inspiring.
