Digital Unicorn Media Day 1: Let’s Make Some Magic (and Marketing Videos)! 🦄
Welcome to Day 1 of our wild ride into the world of video marketing! Grab your coffee/tea/wine/water and an unicorn horn (yes, it's required), and let’s dive into some serious fun!
1. Setup Marketing Direction: Ideal Customer & Choose Your Niche
First things first, WHO are you talking to? Spoiler: It's not everyone. We’re talking about your ideal customer here—someone who dreams about your product and would invite it to brunch. Are they trendsetters? Find your people and lock in on your niche, because trying to please Humans is like making pizza with a salad base—no one's asking for that?
2. Setup Content Direction: How to Deliver Your Magic
Now that we know who you’re chatting with, let’s figure out how to deliver the goods. Time to craft your signature style—maybe it's quirky, funky, or just packed with some serious sass.
Create content that makes your audience go, “Oh yeah, that’s so you!”
Content Pillars: Pick 3-4 themes to sprinkle through your videos. Think tips, behind-the-scenes, product demos, or bloopers—everyone loves a good blooper.
Types of Video: Reels, tutorials, testimonials—mix it up like your favorite smoothie! :)
3. Plan Your Content: Videos & Reels Calendar
You didn’t think you could just wing it, did you? Time to whip up a monthly content calendar because we want consistency, not chaos. List out ideas like “How to Use Our Product Without Breaking a Sweat” or “Why Our Service is the Beyoncé of the Industry.”
Throw in some reels, and boom! you’re in business. =)
4. Create Your Content: 7 Headline Angles & Video Storylines
This is where the real magic happens—time to write those killer headlines and craft the ultimate video storylines. Need a little help?
Here’s a cheat sheet:
7 Headline Angles: From “5 Things You Never Knew About [Your Product]” to “Why [Your Service] Will Change Your Life (Or at Least Your Day),” these babies will grab attention.
Video Storyline Template: Set the scene, present a problem, show your product swooping in like a superhero, and BAM : solution delivered!
Preparation Before Shoot: Make sure the lighting’s on point, the camera’s steady, and maybe.....just maybe......give your hair a quick fluff? =) You will thank me for that :)
