As a florist, I’ve spent years helping people say “I love you” or “thank you” to their moms, with flowers when words fall short.

Mother’s Day is always one of the busiest, but this year, something quietly shifted. My mom just retired. And while we’re not the closest, I’ve been spending a bit more time with her lately.

I’m learning to be patient, I guess. To just be there. Not trying to fix or change anything, but just being present.

It reminded me that love takes many shapes. Sometimes it’s not perfect or poetic, but it’s there, quietly growing with time.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the ways we love, and all the ways we try.

And thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who’s been supporting my little florist all these years. It means more than I can ever say ❤️
