Low Tech, High Success
This year's fruit season brought new perspectives. We had manggis, langsat, duku, rambutan etc to harvest. The challenge was that they were all high up in the trees. A ladder was needed. We sought the help of a local . . . who introduced us to "tangga buluh - bamboo ladder". Cuts were meticulously made on the bamboo to create steps. This became our ladder.
Our pond had flourished with multiple aquatic plants to the point where parts oft the pond were chocked. The same local who helped brought in the tangga buluh was approached. He build a raft of bamboo (rakit buluh) and got to work cleaning up the pond.
Both the tangga and rakit may appear low tech . . . but they did the job. Made me appreciate how folks of the past made use of available nature's resources. These items are actually aesthetically pleasing.
