Thirteen years ago, I began my floral journey, deeply inspired by my first visit to Erin Benzakein - Floret
Back then, when I knew almost nothing about growing flowers, Erin encouraged me to begin growing a garden of my own. I could never have imagined where that beginning would lead.
I visited her again this week, thirteen years later, and I came away with my heart full of gratitude and admiration.
The farm has grown, certainly, but with it, so have so many of us who have been touched and inspired by everything Erin has brought into the world.
My path with flowers would not have been the same without you. And in so many ways, my life too.
I am back in Mexico feeling deeply inspired, perhaps even more than I was thirteen years ago.
Your wisdom, your generosity and the way you have so openly shared what you have learned have changed not only my life, but the world of flowers and growing in ways that are difficult to measure.
Thank you, Erin, for planting so many seeds, both literally and otherwise. For showing us what can grow when beauty, curiosity, generosity, and devotion are tended over time.
This arrangement feels like a small expression of that gratitude, created with the beautiful flowers you so generously shared with me, gathered into a vessel by Frances Palmer Pottery and photographed so beautifully by Ashley Noelle Edwards
What a gift it has been to witness your journey, and to realize how profoundly it has shaped my own.
And a very special thank you to Alexa de la Cruz for coming along with me on this adventure and sharing these beautiful days. 🤍
