Today, we recognize the extraordinary wildlife of the Gulf and Caribbean region, from coral reefs and mangroves to migratory species and vital fisheries that sustain our communities and cultures.
Healthy wildlife populations are the foundation of resilient ecosystems, food security, livelihoods, and economic opportunity across our region. Protecting biodiversity is not only an environmental priority, it is a social and economic imperative.
At the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute, we are proud to support science, collaboration, and regional dialogue that advance sustainable fisheries, effective marine protected areas, and ocean stewardship.
Together, we can ensure that the wildlife of the Gulf and Caribbean continues to thrive for generations to come.
Happy World Wildlife Day!
