This wedding style-metaphorically called "Green"- has become fashionable in countries like UK, where many couples seem more committed to the need to reduce the environmental impact of their link and their daily life.
How do you plan a green wedding?
The planning of this event style does not involve an effort or additional expense to those of any other wedding. However, in these cases I can assure you that even the minimum detail (like not throwing rice) is an effort in the environment. You just need to follow the following recommendations:
Place of celebration
There are many factors to take into account to get the perfect location:
- wedding of the day: the wedding must pass during the day, and if possible outdoors, to reduce electricity consumption.
- getting married in summer: in the energy saving line it is convenient to think the time of the year that allows us to enjoy more hours of sunlight.
- avoid displacement: if boyfriends are from different cities you have to think well in which of them will be the wedding. The ideal thing is to take place in the city that most guests attend the link, to reduce pollutant emissions produced by displacement.
- ceremony and celebration on the same site: Select a place or facilities that allow us to do everything in the same place, or when less than a short distance walking that prevents the use of vehicles to get from one place to another.
Invitations
The important thing is to avoid the use of paper or at least minimize the amount of waste produced by this material. For this i share two good options:
- Virtual Invitations: according to the technological times we live to invite our friends and family via e-mail, generate a group of guests on whatsapp, is the right option. You can even design your invitation with any design program, video or creating a website (which at the same time will keep you informed of the day-to-day preparations for guests). Also this option is a safe money savings.
- Recycled Paper: if you are going to deliver the traditional physical invitation, these should be 100 % Recycled Paper, which you can do yourself. Try to choose a simple design that uses the least amount of inks.
Alliances and engagement ring
A Jewel committed to the environment? Well this is not clear to me, but according to sources consulted if possible.
- committed companies: Buy the jewelry for your wedding in companies committed to the laws of worker protection, with the environment or selling recycled metal pieces, such as polar bear diamond or green karat.
- Antiques: search in antique stores those forgotten jewelry or reuse the old family jewels; an emotional alternative.
- symbolic jewelry: Wood, coconut or other biodegradable materials are ideal for the most committed. The Alliances, at the end of the day, are the symbol par excellence of marriage, a reminder of the promise of eternal love that makes the couple on their wedding day.
Dress of the boyfriends
This may be the most delicate point of everything, since for brides it is very difficult to give up on wearing a new suit that day and the option of the rent of this does not seem to be an alternative with acceptance However I leave you some options.
- rental of the suit: more accepted among men, the rental of a wedding suit that you will only use one day is an economic and sustainable option. Brides also have this possibility, although as I commented it is a practice with little acceptance.

- suit donation: if you have bought a new dress consider donating it to a charity or sell it in foundations that will then allocate a percentage of money-or 100 %- in charity works.
Transportation boyfriends and guests
It is important to think about the form of displacement of both guests and boyfriends. As said above, it is essential to avoid the largest number of displacement and with these polluting emissions, but in the case of adverse measures, it is appropriate to put in
- walking or public transport: it is the most appropriate option to try that guests and boyfriends can arrive, in any of these ways, to the place of celebration of the wedding; or when less from this to the place of the banquet.

Hola amigos les comparto 5 de 10 consejos importantes para una BODAS VERDES: ECOLÓGICAS Y SOSTENIBLES
Este estilo de boda –metafóricamente denominada “verde”- se ha puesto de moda en países como Reino Unido, donde muchas parejas parecen más comprometidas con la necesidad de recudir el impacto ambiental de su enlace y de su vida cotidiana.
¿Cómo se planifica una Boda Verde?
La planificación de este estilo de evento no conlleva ni un esfuerzo ni un gasto adicional a los de cualquier otra boda. No obstante, en estos casos sí te puedo asegurar que hasta el mínimo detalle (como no lanzar arroz) es un esfuerzo en pro del medioambiente. Tan sólo necesitas seguir las siguientes recomendaciones:
LUGAR DE LA CELEBRACIÓN
Hay muchos factores a tomar en cuenta para conseguir el emplazamiento perfecto:
– Boda de día: la boda debe trascurrir durante el día, y de ser posible al aire libre, para reducir el consumo de electricidad.
– Casarse en verano: en la línea del ahorro energético es conveniente pensar la época del año que nos permita disfrutar de más horas de luz solar.
– Evitar desplazamientos: si los novios son de distintas ciudades hay que pensar bien en cuál de ellas se realizará la boda. Lo ideal es que se realice en la ciudad que más invitados asisten al enlace, para reducir las emisiones contaminantes producidas por los desplazamientos.
– Ceremonia y celebración en el mismo sitio: seleccionar un lugar o instalaciones que nos permitan realizar todo en el mismo sitio, o cuando menos a una distancia corta caminando que evite el uso de vehículos para llegar de un lugar a otro.
INVITACIONES
Lo importante es evitar el uso del papel o cuando menos minimizar la cantidad de residuos producidos por este material. Para esto te comparto dos buenas opciones:
– Invitaciones virtuales: acorde a los tiempos tecnológicos en que vivimos invitar a nuestros amigos y familiares vía e-mail, generar un grupo de invitados en whatsapp,es la opción adecuada. Incluso puedes diseñar tu invitación con cualquier programa de diseño, en vídeo o creando una página web (que a la vez mantendrá informados del día a día de los preparativos a los invitados). Además está opción es un ahorro de dinero seguro.
– Papel reciclado: si vas a entregar la tradicional invitación física, estas deberían ser de papel 100% reciclado, el cual puedes hacer tú misma. Trata de elegir un diseño sencillo que utilice la menor cantidad de tintas.
ALIANZAS Y ANILLO DE COMPROMISO
¿Una joya comprometida con el medio ambiente? Bueno esto a mi no me queda claro, pero según fuentes consultadas si es posible.
– Empresas comprometidas: compra las joyas para tu boda en empresas comprometidas con las leyes de la protección del trabajador, con el medio ambiente o que vendan piezas de metal reciclado, como Polar Bear Diamond o Green Karat.
– Antigüedades: busca en tiendas de antigüedades esas joyas olvidadas o reutiliza las viejas alhajas familiares; una alternativa emotiva.
– Joyas simbólicas: madera, coco u otros materiales biodegradables son ideales para los más comprometidos. Las alianzas, a fin de cuentas, son el símbolo por excelencia del matrimonio, un recordatorio de la promesa de amor eterno que hace la pareja el día de su boda.
VESTIMENTA DE LOS NOVIOS
Este quizás es el punto más delicado de todo, ya que para las novias es muy difícil renunciar al lucir un traje nuevo ese día y la opción del alquiler de este no parece ser una alternativa con aceptación. Sin embargo te dejo algunas opciones.
– Alquiler del traje: más aceptado entre los hombres, el alquiler de un traje de bodas que sólo utilizaras un día es una opción económica y sostenible. Las novias también disponen de esta posibilidad, aunque como he comentado es una práctica con poca aceptación.
– Tejidos ecológicos: utilizar prendas confeccionadas con estos tipos de tejidos (algodón orgánico, cáñamo, textil reciclado o seda producida de manera sostenible).
– Reutilización del traje: si vas a comprar una prenda nueva lo mejor es pensar en la utilización de la misma para otras ocasiones. Por ejemplo, los hombres pueden comprarse un traje que puedan utilizar para otros actos sociales o para ir al trabajo, y las mujeres buscar un vestido que se pueda modificar fácilmente o reconvertirse.
– Donación del traje: si te has comprado un vestido nuevo considera donarlo a una organización benéfica o revenderlo en fundaciones que destinen, posteriormente, un porcentaje del dinero –o el 100%- en obras de caridad.
TRANSPORTE NOVIOS E INVITADOS
Es importante pensar en la forma de desplazamiento tanto de los invitados como de los novios. Como se ha dicho más arriba es fundamental evitar la mayor cantidad de desplazamientos y con estos las emisiones contaminantes, pero en caso adverso es conveniente poner medidas mitigadoras:
– Caminando o en transporte público: es la opción más adecuada intentar que los invitados y novios puedan llegar, de alguna de estas formas, hasta el lugar de celebración de la boda; o cuando menos desde este al lugar del banquete.
– Bicicleta: los novios e invitados pueden utilizar perfectamente este medio de transporte 100% ecológico para llegar a la boda. Si te preocupa la ropa pues no exijas una etiqueta estricta para tu enlace.
– Alquiler de autobuses: si no puedes evitar el desplazamiento de tus invitados cuando menos renta un autobús que te permita llevarlos a todos juntos, evitando así las emisiones producidas por los vehículos privados
además es una idea excelente (a pesar del coste extra) para evitar los controles de alcohol y que tus invitados puedan consumir alcohol con conciencia.
– Vehículos híbridos o carruajes tirados por caballos: la opción perfecta para el traslado de la novia hasta el lugar de la ceremonia.
