To create your dream wedding, sometimes you need to break the rules! When planning my UK wedding, we decided to do things differently to save thousands 😎❤️

Right from the start, we wanted to serve tacos. All the venues pushed their own expensive catering packages, but hiring a food truck instead made a huge difference in our budget—and our guests absolutely loved it! 🌮🔥

We also made DIY mini Piñatas filled with Mexican and British sweets for our favours. Pro tip: If you give food or sweets, people are much less likely to waste them! 🪅🍬

Of course, things don’t always go as planned. We wanted to give tiny tequila bottles, but the venue tried to charge us a fee for every single one! To protect our budget, we dropped the idea. 🥃🚩

Thinking about an open bar🍷🥂🍺at your UK wedding?
You need a strategy, or you are in for a very expensive surprise! ⚠️😲

One of the biggest traps couples fall into happens right at the end of the night.
With just 2 hours left of the party, the venue staff will usually approach you and say: 'You’ve hit your budget limit. Do we switch to a Cash Bar, or keep the tab open?'
In the middle of the wedding high, it’s so easy to think: 'Oh, there are only a couple of hours left, let's just keep the open bar going.'
⚠️Spoiler alert: This is always a massive mistake. 🫡🫣

Without a strict limit, those last two hours can completely ruin your wedding budget, leading to an absolute shocker of a bill the next morning!

Before falling in love with a space, ask yourself: What kind of wedding vibe do you actually want?
If you want a traditional, formal day, an all-inclusive venue is great. But if you dream of something relaxed, flexible, and fun, you need to be very careful. ⚠️
Traditional venues lock you into their fixed menus. If you sign the contract and later want to bring in a food truck or an external caterer, they will hit you with massive penalty fees that could cost you a fortune! 💸
✨ Coach's Tip: If you want total freedom, look for a 'Blank Canvas' (or Dry Hire) venue. You hire just the space and choose the rest—your day, your rules, and zero hidden food penalties. 🎨🥂

Let’s face it: the traditional three-course 'Wedding Breakfast' can completely break your budget before you've even looked at the dress! 😲

The cost of a formal sit-down meal can be incredibly high. But if you are a bride who wants to save money, have fun, and make her wedding truly memorable, it’s time to break the rules!

I’ll let you in on a secret🤫: that is exactly what we did for our own wedding here in England. We decided to split our catering into two budget-friendly wins:
🍰 For the day: We chose a gorgeous, elegant Afternoon Tea with scones and finger sandwiches. It gave us that classic British charm for a fraction of the price.
🌮 For the evening: We hired a Taco Truck! It brought a delicious taste of my home country, Mexico 🇲🇽, created a relaxed, festival-style vibe, and our guests are still talking about it.

Not only did this save us thousands of pounds, but it also meant our guests could actually mingle, chat, and dance instead of being stuck at a table for hours. 🥂✨
Your wedding day needs to be a moment you can enjoy from start to finish, without falling into the stress of high costs.

⛔⛔❌Cometí errores que quiero que evites si estás empezando a planear tu boda ya sea en el extranjero o en tu propia ciudad...

• No tengas miedo a preguntar todo, en mi caso por el idioma no pude expresarme ni entender de la forma correcta, así que si coordinador del día no era lo que yo esperaba, no dudes usas herramientas que te sirvan para entender cómo Google translate 😉

• Antes de firmar un contrato, pregunta TODO, horarios, permisos de catering externos, comisiones, etc para poder tomar una decisión y que no te sientas limitad@ 🤝

Recuerda que es tu gran día, tu pones las reglas✨❤️

Cuando nos comprometimos puedo asegurarles que entre en pánico porque como wedding planner es muy difícil soltar tu día más importante, TU BODA, pero todo es tan maravilloso cuando en el camino te vas encontrando personas que más que proveedores se vuelven tus AMIGOS que sabes bien que siempre estarán ahí para ti.
