It's a question I completely understand.

After working on the hotel side of weddings and events, I've seen how valuable the hotel wedding team can be. They know their property, their departments, their menus, their policies, their spaces and how their operation works.

But an independent wedding planner has a different role.

We're looking at the wedding from the other side of the table — the couple's vision, the overall timeline, the vendors, the guest experience, the design, the family dynamics and everything happening throughout the celebration and most of all, taking care of our couples!

And the best weddings aren't about one person doing everything. They're about the planner and the hotel team working together and sharing knowledge and making a dream come through!

When that relationship is strong, the couple doesn't have to be the one connecting all the dots.

As you step into a breathtaking venue, what's the first thing that takes your breath away?

Of course, it's the stunning view! The majestic ocean, the impressive architecture, and the picturesque ceremony location all come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

But as a seasoned wedding planner, I see beyond the aesthetics. I envision the magic that unfolds when every detail is meticulously planned and executed.

I ask myself:
How will our guests flow effortlessly from one celebration to the next?
What's the plan B for unexpected weather changes?
How can we create an unforgettable cocktail hour experience?
Will our guests be comfortable and shaded throughout the event?
What will the sunset look like during the ceremony, and how can we make it truly unforgettable?
How can we streamline the setup process for our vendors?

Because a truly exceptional wedding venue is not just about its beauty, but about its functionality and attention to detail.

It's about creating an atmosphere where every moment feels effortless, yet meticulously planned.

So, when you're touring a wedding venue, what's the first thing that catches your eye?

But there is so much happening behind the scenes before they ever walk into the ballroom.

When planning a destination wedding at a hotel/Resort there are details that can completely change how a wedding comes together:

ᔕ Does the space really work for the guest count and the design?
ᔕ Is there enough room for the dance floor, stage, bars, entertainment and guest flow?
ᔕ Can that beautiful hanging installation actually be rigged?
ᔕ When can vendors load in and begin setting up?
ᔕ What is the latest possible setup time?
ᔕ Where does everything come in and out?
ᔕ How does the hotel's operation affect the wedding timeline?

These are just a few details guests will probably never notice.
