Palazzo Abela is set in the old village of Tarxien opposite the small church of St. It was built by Bishop Monsignor Leonardo Abela during 1562-4 as his summer palace. Located in the heart of Tarxien, this Palazzo was used by the British Armed Forces as a place to rest and recreation.The Palazzo is typically Maltese architecture which gives a medieval aspect, with a number of small rooms and shape

less spaces on different levels linked to each other. Touring this Palazzo offers great insight and sparks the imagination – whether you find yourself seeking inspiration from the grand Lounge, Dining room, Garden or the fabulous Chapel, you’ll find it.
