Koperattiva Rurali Manikata Educational school visits, activities for kids, team building activities, parties, rural tourism, local products and more.

Koperattiva Rurali Manikata (KRM) Ltd, was set up in the Summer of 2007 by a group of farmers and residents of Manikata. Their general aim was to put forward projects that would help to safeguard to natural, historical, social and economic environment of the place. Today the cooperative is working on four different projects:
1. The running of the Manikata Rural Heritage Trail.
2. The restoration o

f the Razzett tal-Qasam.
3. The restoration of the Armoury of Għajn Tuffieħa Royal Marines Training Centre
4. The promotion of local produce and of typical food.

Week 1 is over and the kids are settling in nicely.
Today our 4 to 6 group fed the animals, planted sunflower seeds, made mud worm cups with yoghurt, biscuits and gummy worms and had a chance to enjoy the company of Naya our cute rabbit.

Nature is amazing and the way to make kids appreciate it, is to teach them about its wonders. These are a few things we discussed:
Do plants breathe?
Can they feel us when we touch them?
How do plants get their food?
Pollinators and their importance.
We also learnt how to calculate the age of a tree and to estimate the height.
All this was explained with hands-on activities and fun games.

First day of Summer Club is over. We are fully charged and ready for 10 weeks of fun and learning.

Today our 7+ group had time to explore their surroundings and learn about nature. We visited the farm animals, made nature art and had fun playing and getting to know each other.
