The kickflip is one of the coolest moves you can do in your kayak and one of my personal favourites. This really all started back in the 1990’s with the Himalayan White Water Rodeo, held on the Trisuli River. So great to see Kayakers really profiting from such a fantastic sport.

There are many routes to success and for a group of friends in India, it was the Ganges River.

Wilderness Open Canoe Expeditions in central Mongolia

Four unique opportunities …

Is this you? :-
• Competent in an open canoe?
• Interested in wilderness canoe expeditions?
• A leader of youth development expeditions?
• Interested in bringing a group to Mongolia on expedition in the future?
• Available for 1 month in June & July 2016 (or for parts, minimum 12 days, see below)?

The plan to:-
• Paddle 4 wild rivers in central Mongolia, around 500km from Ulaanbaatar
• With 28 wilderness river days of class I to III
• Go self-sufficient style with wild camping every night

What you pay for:-
• International flights to/from Chinggis Khaan International Airport, Ulaanbaatar
• Travel insurance
• Hostel or hotel accommodation in Ulaanbaatar before and after the trip
• Your share of the transportation, food and cooking cost in Mongolia
• Any additional sight seeing activities not included in the trip

• This opportunity is a non-profit venture; all direct costs are shared between the paddlers attending on an equal basis, depending upon the trip(s) undertaken
• I will ask you to give a voluntary contribution to the Mongolia Institute of Outdoor Learning (MIOL) (of around £100 to £150 each) that is used to fund training for Mongolian’s to gain experience of Outdoor Education and Leadership in the outdoors. If we have sufficient numbers participating in this trip MIOL will include Mongolian trainees in this venture

What you get:-
• A unique experience of the amazing nomadic culture and lifestyle of Mongolia
• The experience required to lead an Expedition in Mongolia (this is the recce?)
• A great time paddling 4 really wild rivers, that are very rarely paddled
• Coaching: informal and formal personal skills and River leadership
• All the equipment is provided (excluding personal clothing)
• ALL the logistical support and back up required
• Help with booking hostels in Ulaanbaatar
• Meet and collect/deliver to Chinggis Khaan International Airport

• FULL TRIP 4 Rivers. Depart Ulaanbaatar on Mon 13th June. Return UB Friday 15th July
• Individual trip 1 - Depart UB on Mon 13th June. Return UB Thur 23rd June
• Individual trip 2 - Depart UB Sunday 19th June. Return UB Saturday 2nd July
• Individual trips 3 and 4 - Depart UB Wednesday 29th June. Return UB Friday 15th July
