"I could never" they are too cute and fluffy.
Not going to lie, it has been an emotional journey to get to here with the rabbits. They are cute and fun to watch and we have gotten attached. But honestly, we did get attached to the pigs and turkeys as well and it was hard.
Farming is hard. Way harder than homeschooling itself, this lifeschooling life of farming has built up something that even walked through is so hard to explain. I can't even walk through a grocery store anymore without feeling things when I am in the meat department.
The ducks and the rabbits started off as pets when we were "failing" as farmers. We love them like pets, but we also farm them now. It was a gradual transition. Definitely not smooth, but slow. Expensive, but worth it to us.
We almost gave up trying to farm. But after a decade we are moving back into it. Still slowly, but steadily now. We have reached a point of opening up to others to come in and meet us where we are now before the farming aspect grows like we intend.
We have time now to share the experience on personal levels with other newcomers to the life and those who can "not imagine" are welcomed to come in person.
Hope to meet you soon.
We offer an experience one on one or as a class on our process and our journey to here. $25 per rabbit from our farm to your freezer. Only 1 or 2 right now per visit.
