It was a great joy for me to meet this wonderful couple. They are a huge inspiration for me to believe in love. 🩷❤️After 13 years together—filled with joy and challenges—they still look at each other with immense love and respect, and on a sunny July 22nd, they confidently exchanged their vows.
The secret of their love is captured in Vilmantas’s words during the wedding evening:
A story is told about an old man who was once asked:
“What is the secret to a long and happy marriage?”
He just smiled calmly — like someone who had seen and understood much — and quietly replied:
“When I was young — in love, full of hope, like you are today —
I believed that love lies first and foremost in falling in love.
In wonder, in passion, in new beginnings.”
“But the true secret doesn’t lie in falling in love.
It lies — in staying and forgiving.
In the quiet, unnoticed, everyday new beginning — sometimes in the middle of pain.”
He told his story:
Once, he secretly wrote a little note to his wife:
“I promise you: Every day, I will forgive you again —
Even if you don’t notice. And every day, I will choose you again.”
And he hid it, but constantly, tirelessly remembered those hidden words.
Many years into a happy marriage, he accidentally found the long-hidden note and saw
that at the bottom — in her handwriting — was written just one sentence:
“And I will forgive you too.”
And maybe...
that is exactly what makes great love truly strong:
Not because it is perfect.
But because it is willing to be imperfect — to endure and grow through forgiveness.
That two people meet not only in joy,
but also in doubt, in pride, in silence —
And in their mistakes, tirelessly repeat:
‘I still choose you. Today. Again. Every single day.’”
Fun fact: after 13 years together, they officially got married on Friday the 13th at 13:30—and this date combination happens only once every 13 years. Clearly, 13 is their lucky number 🍀
