Basotho Women Empowerment is an action oriented women empowerment organization committed in networking through high end thematic events, a non governmental organization, non political and non religious founded in 2019 by Ms Pokello Ntsaba in response to a dire state of the well-being of women and orphaned
children. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
-To utilize the existing government schemes properly for the benefit of women empowerment;
- To assess the degree of awareness of women to empowerment in Lesotho and identify the misconceptions coming their way;
- To understand gender discrimination amongst society and seek to eliminate the same where it exists;
- To see women unite and support each other in different spheres of life;
- To develop skills of the members of our organization;
- To analyze factors infl uencing the economic empowerment of women;
- To provide useful suggestions to address social imbalance;
- To raise funds in order to support achievements of goals ,aims and objectives of the organization;
- To see all kids living with or without disabilities being able to attend school and live without discrimination;
-To find best opportunities for our members;
- To denounce all forms of oppression and discrimination amongst members; and
- To align and affiliate with any other organization in and outside Botha Bothe with similar goals and vision. We host two events annually with different dress codes, in March we have a casual event where we rock our African attire and in November we do an elegant event with fascinators and stylish designs on heels. On the 2nd April 2022 we hosted Famo musical event honoring our legends Mr Mohlominyane Gabriel „Apollo‟ Ntabanyane and Ms Puseletso Seema at Assumption high school Teyateyaneng Berea. The events have attracted women from other districts as well as our neighbouring countries of South Africa, Botswana and Swaziland to mention but few. We also do motivational sessions and career guidance in high schools. OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH
We visit different schools to offer education and financial assistance in the areas of training and scholarship, offer school uniforms and cosmetics to those selected by their schools according to their needs. Encouraging the youngsters to get off the streets into classroom is also our utmost goal through means from individuals, events contributions, cooperate bodies, philanthropists and local donors. Organizing and or attending of international conference, seminars, workshops, expert group meetings and lectures on issues that affects youths such as HIV/AIDS and risky behavior, sexuality education, HIV Prevention Education, Adolescent Pregnant prevention, Drug use and abuse, alcoholism, conflict prevention and violence are also of paramount importance to us.
