When Mokete Oa Mahipi was formed, it was born to celebrate 50 Years of Hip Hop in 2023. That moment was epic and historic for the culture in the Mountain Kingdom.
After that celebration, we faced real challenges — the kind we openly spoke about. The next vision was to turn Mokete Oa Mahipi into an annual hip hop festival, but setbacks in sponsorship and finances made it difficult to host the caliber of event that truly represents hip hop culture — the way we know it and live it.
But hip hop is in our blood.

For the past two years, we’ve been on the drawing board, mapping new ways forward. Now it’s 2026, and we’re proud to say we’ve found a solution that we believe will revive Mokete Oa Mahipi and strengthen hip hop culture in the Kingdom.
We’re officially back — with a series of activations lined up, building momentum all the way to the main event on 05 December.
