Echoes of Excellence | 11th Anniversary Celebration

On May 9th, 2025, St. John Paul II English Medium College, Wennappuwa proudly marked its 11th Anniversary—a celebration of growth, excellence, and endless memories.

The event was honored by the presence of our Chief Guest, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Wimal Siri Jayasuriya, Bishop of Chilaw, whose blessings made the occasion even more meaningful.

A proud highlight of the day was the opening of our new college library —a gateway to knowledge for every Paulian.

Here’s to 11 years of dedication, and to many more years of inspiring excellence!

Echoes of Excellence | 11th Anniversary Celebration

A proud and memorable day for St. John Paul II English Medium College, Wennappuwa as we celebrated our 11th Anniversary on May 9th, 2025 at the college premises!

We were honored to welcome His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Wimal Siri Jayasuriya, Bishop of Chilaw, as the Chief Guest of this special occasion.

A major highlight of the day was the launch of our inaugural college newspaper, "Panorama" —a new platform for student voices, creativity, and college achievements!

The spirit of Sinhala and Tamil New Year came alive at the Guidance Primary Section on the 30th of April 2025 with a vibrant and joyous celebration held at the school premises. The entire event was a colourful showcase of traditional Aurudu customs, games, and festivities that brought smiles and laughter to all our little ones.
Our young students enthusiastically took part in a variety of Aurudu activities that highlighted the beauty of our rich culture. From traditional Aurudu Charithra to exciting games like අලියාට ඇස තැබීම,dehi race, and many more – the atmosphere was filled with fun and cheer.
A special highlight was the Aurudu Kumara & kumariya Tharagaya (Traditional New Year Dress Competition), where students dazzled in their beautiful and creative attire, celebrating our heritage in style.
It was truly a memorable day where tradition met joy, creating lasting memories for our children. A big thank you to all the Rev. Fr. Rector Ajith Prasanna, Rev. Fr. Principal Susiri Shantha, Rev. Fr. Roshan Dindika (Principal of the Primary Section),teachers, parents and students who made this event a great success!
