A brief history of Water’s Meet:

It is a beautiful property located 30 miles south of Colombo along Galle Road, Maggona. The property was purchased in the late 70’s by Mr. AGA Barrie and a dream home was built in the 80’s by the late Mr. Daya C Lelwela, former GMR, based upon Middle Eastern design. Alhamdulillah

In the mid 90’s, the home was converted into a wedding hall. Following this, early 2000 saw the construction of a proper hall which became a popular venue in the area benefiting all local residents until the tsunami of 2004.

Around 2007, the property was leased to Galle Caterers to run the banquet hall. This was very popular for many years, derailed only by a series of mishaps including COVID. The building was badly neglected until late 2022, when renovations under Mr. Dahilan Moulana and partners commenced. Alhamdulilah, on 11th May 2023, a proper opening was able to take place. We hope to grow the property, InshaAllah, while we await further developments and updates
