Inclusion is best understood when you see it in action. 💙

Yesterday, Orlando Edwards, Country Director British Council Sri Lanka visited BConnected’s BEmpowered Batch 04 Training Programme and met a talented cohort of young participants with disabilities.

At BConnected, potential goes beyond disability. Through BEmpowered, a committed effort is being made to empower young Persons with Disabilities with the skills, confidence and workplace readiness they need to build meaningful careers.

But inclusion is not something one person or one organisation can achieve alone. It needs all of us.

We invite corporates, development partners, organisations, benefactors and volunteers to come and see the efforts being made to empower persons with disabilities, meet participants, discover their potential and explore how you can contribute through employment, internships, skills development or partnerships.

Today, we proudly welcomed the 4th Batch of the BEmpowered Training Programme an inspiring group of young persons with visual, hearing, speech, and physical disabilities who are taking the next step towards meaningful employment.

Over the coming weeks, they will strengthen their employability skills, build workplace confidence, and prepare to pursue careers where their talents can truly shine.

At BConnected, we've chosen to continue this programme using our own funds because we believe that every young person with a disability deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Lasting change happens one person at a time, one opportunity at a time.

BEmpowered is more than a training programme it's our commitment to breaking barriers, opening doors, and creating pathways to inclusive employment.

BConnected is connecting ambitious professionals and aspiring talent with opportunities at an established firm specialising in Audit and Tax Services.

Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Support, execute and supervise external audit and review engagements
✔️ Conduct risk assessments and review internal control systems
✔️ Identify and resolve accounting and auditing matters
✔️ Assist with tax computations, returns and statutory documentation
✔️ Conduct tax research and support compliance assignments
✔️ Maintain accurate working papers and documentation
✔️ Meet deadlines and contribute to the successful ex*****on of audit plans
✔️ Guide and supervise junior team members where applicable

Key Requirements:
✔️ ICASL / CIMA / ACCA / CPA / CMA qualification, part qualification or registration, depending on the role
✔️ Finance or Accounting degree candidates may also be considered for relevant positions
✔️ Relevant External Audit experience from 6 months to 3+ years, depending on the position
✔️ Strong knowledge of applicable accounting, auditing and tax regulations
✔️ Proficiency in MS Office
✔️ Excellent written and spoken English
✔️ Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
✔️ Ability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple priorities

For Tax Trainee applicants, following CTA or another taxation-related course or degree will be an added advantage.

We are looking for Pawning Associates who can deliver accurate valuations, excellent customer service, secure transaction handling, and strong branch level performance.

You should have:
✔️ At least 2 years of experience in pawning services and gold assessment
✔️ G.C.E. O/L credit passes in Mathematics and English
✔️ Strong communication and customer service skills
✔️ High integrity and attention to detail
✔️ The ability to achieve assigned pawning targets
✔️ Banking experience as an added advantage

💰 Basic Salary: LKR 60,000
🎯 Attractive commissions based on target achievement
📄 Two-year fixed-term contract
