Being the contemporaries of a demanding and hectic world, what majority of the population experience is that life has turned into a race towards achievements. This dreadful condition, which primarily targeted the middle aged people, has laid its hands on youth and had strengthened its grip as well. The urge to establish them
selves in this society has forced majority of the youngsters to live a dull and monotonous life with scarce opportunities for entertainment. Even the golden time available to us amidst this busy schedule has been dedicated to home theatre systems, mp3 players or social networks. Instead of using this time as an opportunity to explore the wonders around us and add memories to cherish throughout our life, we try to confine ourselves with a song, play or a movie. Depriving youngsters the opportunity to perceive the wonders of this world and to experience the beauty of the diverse cultures around us, will lead to a future generation that cling on to success and wealth with neither aesthetic nor human values. Fortunately understanding the necessity to find new approaches for entertainment has paved the way to an upcoming trend of forming events to utilize the precious time of youth. The crave to embrace this trend and present it exclusively for Sri Lankan youth in a suitable and appealing manner, has resulted in bringing up “EVIDENTs”
