Against the backdrop of the global pandemic crisis in mid 2021, a group of cultural operators and aficionados came together to plan an exit and recovery strategy for the arts in Cambodia. The Cambodian Arts and Festival Enterprise (CAFE) was created as a think tank and generator of initiatives and activities to harness the extraordinarily diverse wealth of Cambodia’s cultural panorama. OUR VISION
To become Cambodia’s premium cultural and creative enterprise. OUR BELIEF
We believe a prosperous society is fortified by flourishing arts. OUR MISSION
Empower society through arts and culture, engage audiences in uplifting experiences, enrich horizons with international exchange, enlighten minds with intellectual nourishment, enkindle senses with beauty and joy. The Cambodian Arts & Festival Enterprise aims to promote Cambodian culture and outstanding talent; to align with national tourism programs to drive economic recovery; to collaborate with institutions and organizations in the promotion and production of cultural events; and to foster openness to cultural diversity and intercultural collaboration. CAFE was successful in producing the first instalment of the Angkor International Festival of the Arts (AIFA) in December 2021 which included celebrations of Cambodia’s intangible cultural heritage, the AIFA Writers and Readers Festival, the AIFA Visual Arts Hub, AIFA Conference Series and much more. Integral to CAFE's values is the collaboration with national and international institutions including the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Siem Reap Provincial Hall and UNESCO as well as Cambodia’s own prestigious cultural organisations including Phare Circus, Cambodian Living Arts and the Centre for Khmer Studies.
