In marriage you need to be each other's greatest cheerleader, not only a critic. Praise and applaud your spouse's right choices; do not just tell them what they did wrong. The world is already full of people who will point out their failures and shortcomings. Always keep in mind that next to God, no other voice has as much power, influence, or value to your spouse as yours.
If my wife tells me I am a champion, it does not matter if the world tells me I am not.
It is God who tells me who I am. It is my wife who helps me see that in myself.
And most sobering of all is to realize if you are not your spouse's greatest cheerleader then you are allowing someone else to be.
