We are officially writing to notify FIFA and the English FA that Arsenal Football Club no longer wishes to participate in matches against Chelsea Football Club
Our position is based on the persistent lack of competitive parity. Chelsea has proven to be an insufficient opponent, failing to secure a single victory against us in our last 11 encounters. As a club committed to the highest standards of the sport, we require serious competition to maintain the integrity and entertainment value of our fixtures.
Continuing to play against a side that lacks the necessary talent and tactical depth is detrimental to our progression and creates a repetitive, uninspiring experience for our supporters. We have reached a point where we must prioritize quality opposition over traditional local rivalries that have become entirely one-sided.
Furthermore, we wish to distance ourselves from these fixtures permanently. In the interest of professional football standards, we will no longer engage in matches that offer zero competitive challenge.
