Last Sunday, a pregnant woman walked into a hospital in Parklands, Nairobi to have a cesarean section done on her. After the surgery there was a bill amounting to Ksh's 13,000 to settle. Relatives were contacted but no one avail. They kept saying that they didn't have the money. She remained at the facility for about 5 days.

Relatives were told on the 5th day that their patient had lost the baby. They were asked to come along with Ksh's 60,000 in order to settle the accumulated bill before the body to be released to them. In about 1hr, more than 10 relatives arrived in black funeral attire. After settling the bills, the hospital management gave them their patient and her alive baby.

The relatives have since hired a lawyer paying more than Ksh's 100,000 to sue the hospital!
