Kilifi New Year is a contemporary African alternative and electronic Music Festival held under the stars and in the shade of thousand-year-old Baobabs in Kilifi town on the coast of Kenya from 30th December 2019 to 2nd January 2020.
Set on 20 acres of the pristine lush plateau of Beneath the Baobabs, home to secret wild orange and lemon orchards, bamboo forests, in the upper reaches of Takaungu Creek on the Indian Ocean, Kilifi New Year is a melting pot of global cultures, a brilliant source of inspiration and a haven for freedom of expression, with a strong commitment to conscious living and sustainability.
Kilifi New Year melds creativity with nature, to convey the connection we have with one another, with our environment and our community. The festival culminates with the burning of a large wooden sculpture symbolizing new beginnings and our shared optimism for a brighter future bringing together the community of Kilifi and festival goers for a moving spectacle.
Kilifi New Year 2020 comes backs home full circle by featuring 50+ acts from all across East Africa and the outer-world. This year, ticket Prices for East African Citizens are reduces to increase accessibility for East Africans and the local Kilifi Community.
