According to Professor Kiplagat Kotut (Former DVC Education, Research and Extension at the UNIVERSITY OF EMBU now Vice Chancellor at Moi University), " Focusing so much on what has not been done has made us forget what has been done".

It is in this line of thought that we have decided to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to our political, economic and social landscape as Embu County.

We are recognizing the pillars of Embu at the EMBU ICONS Awards on the 26th, April 2025 at the University of Embu grounds.

We will have exhibitions, mentorship, business pitching and a gala night.

Today, our lovely team visited an Icon to seek advice and opinion on how to improve our event and also his insight on EMBU ICONS.
Joseph Mugendi Alias "Mugendi wa ngandamia" CEO WonderGrow Co. and Jonamax Enterprise is an established business man in agribusiness and production becoming the biggest Macadamia buyer in Embu. His business has impacted the community and empowered over 300 young business men and women cutting across Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Nyeri, Murang'a, Kirinyaga among others.
Our partnership will surely be for the benefit of Embu County and Kenya at large..
His word of encouragement was
" Your idea is noble and honorable, but for sure you will face challenges, discouragement and sometimes frustrations. Do not lose hope, keep on and fight for your vision and put God first."
