Hi there,

As announced on the TSDS website and Facebook, there are two events where you can dance on Saturday, the 3rd.

The first is a free event held on the main street right near Ikebukuro Station. Various food stalls will be set up, and jazz bands will perform on the street corners. We’ve enjoyed freely dancing Lindy Hop in front of these performances many times in the past. On this day, two professional, highly skilled bands will perform. Let’s dance at the first session starting at 2:00 PM. The first band’s performance ends at 2:45 PM, but you can explore the stalls, eat, drink, or shop, and then dance again to the next band’s performance starting at 4:00 PM.

Then, at 7:00 PM that evening, there’s a concert by Silvan Zingg, a Swiss boogie-woogie and blues piano maestro, at the Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall. You can dance at this event too! If you haven’t made a reservation yet and find it difficult to book through the official website, please contact TSDS. We should be able to arrange your ticket with the organizer.

Hi Lindyhoppers,
As previously announced, tomorrow, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, Meiji University’s big band will perform at an outdoor jazz festival at WATERRAS in Tokyo. It’s free! Based on last year’s experience, they’ll likely play several swing jazz tunes we can dance to. The meeting and dancing spot is at the back of the terrace on the 2nd floor, up the escalator.
