I left media years ago to start my own PR & Event Planning business.
Event planning? Slow.
Publicity? Explosive.
Artists lined up, eager to see their names in print or on air.
But here’s the hard truth: while it looked great, many weren’t ready. The songs lacked substance. The professionalism wasn’t there. I realized I was helping people chase attention, not build careers.
So I made a choice: credibility over noise. I redefined what I wanted Compass Communication to stand for—and became selective about who I represent.
Did I make less money? Yes.
But I gained integrity, peace of mind, and a brand I can stand behind.
Today, I proudly work with two artists from families of reggae legends. It’s slower growth, but stronger growth—because it’s built on the right foundation.
Real success isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being ready when you are seen.
